The memorial stone is located in Germany, on the southern side of the Kiel canal in the town of Sehestedt South, on a small area of land at the junction of Alter DorfStraße and Bovenauer Straße, the stone has a plaque dedicated to the six soldiers who lost their lives, six trees have also been planted in memory of the men who lost their lives on 11th September 1974.
National Arboretum
Remembrance Sunday
The Parachute Regiment Association AGM takes place in June, at the National Memorial Arboretum, the Liverpool Branch has always had a large presence at these occasions and it is a great day out and not to be missed.
The Liverpool Branch of the PRA regularly has a parade turn out of at least 100 men and is by far the largest unit on parade, following the remembrance service, we gather in St Johns Gardens for another service at the Parachute Regiment and Airborne Forces memorial followed by a few beers at a pre-booked location.
Para's 10 Miler
A team from the Liverpool Branch competed in the Catterick Para’s 10 miler in 2018, and such was enjoyment of taking part, the team are planning to compete once again on Saturday 18th May 2019.
Social Events
The Liverpool Branch of the PRA, is one of the largest branches in the UK and can boast of monthly attendance of 50 plus members. It has a very lively social life, and hosts very well attended trips to Arnhem and other places of interest.
